Our Story

This store is truly a dream come true!

When I was 13 years old my parents announced we were spending our summer at the beach and my brother and I were not happy. Yes, you read that right, we did not want to spend a summer at the beach! (CRAZY!) Just a few years later I started working at Body Double Swimwear and after my first summer at the shop I told Nancy Ruppert, the previous owner, that when she was ready to retire, I wanted the shop as my own! I was in love with the beach and even more in love with the idea of owning my own swimsuit store. Over ten years later and that dream is my new reality. 

After studying magazine journalism and retail management at Syracuse University I spent two years in New York, a year in Washington, D.C. and a year in Baltimore but quickly (or not so quickly) realized corporate life was not for me. After each new city and job I always kept thinking about what life would be like if I owned Body Double Swimwear. It would combine all of my strengths - shopping, chatting with customers/making new friends, and the freedom (or lack thereof at the moment!) that being your own boss brings.

In December of 2017 the store became mine and life has been a whirlwind since. Now here we are in my THIRD summer as the owner of Body Double Swimwear and I cannot wait to meet everyone who walks through the door. I hope that when you do you will introduce yourself, let my girls and I help you find a swimsuit that will leave you feeling sexy and sassy, and leave Body Double Swimwear with a huge smile on your face!
